Hi, I'm John, and photography is who I am. Taking pictures brings me peace, and I love putting people at ease as they join me in capturing who they are. I focus on candid shots of people in the middle of living life doing what they do best and loving what they love most. My influences include Albert Watson, Todd Hido, Nan Goldin, and Robert Mapplethorpe. I'm always striving to master my craft and capture light in creative and compelling ways that tell the story of the moment. American streets and the American West have been my life-long fascination. Born and trained in Edinburgh, Scotland, I moved to Alabama in 2015 and began my journey shooting the unique beauty of America. I currently live in Columbia, SC, with my beautiful girls.
